New publication on outdoor activities
In March 2010 the English Outdoor Council and Outdoor Education Advisers' Panel launched a new publication by Tim on risk and outdoor activities. The 24-page document, Nothing Ventured... Balancing risks and benefits in the outdoors, aims to dispel the myths about outdoor safety, reassure teachers and promote a commonsense approach. Nothing Ventured... contains supporting statements from Tom Mullarkey OBE, Chief Executive of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, and Judith Hackitt CBE, Chair of the Health and Safety Executive.
